Elder Michael Timothy Jones, a native of Washington, D.C. is the youngest of four siblings. He was born in Heidelberg, Germany to Betty Louise and Jerry Jones Sr. Elder Jones accepted Christ as his personal savior at eight years of age at the Shaw United Methodist Church in southeast Washington D.C. where the Reverend Stevenson was Pastor. He was baptized and later received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1998 at Free Gospel Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Bishop Ralph E. Green and First Lady Shirley Green.

Pastor jones has studied at the school of Christ International where the renowned teacher B.H. Clendennen is the founder and also at the Stratford Career Institute of Northern Virginia, where he became licensed as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

Elder Jones then relocated to Northern Virginia to take a management position with the Tuesday Morning Corporation in Centerville, Virginia. He became a member of the City of Refuge Church in Manassas, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor Glenn E. Jenkins and First Lady Marguerite Jenkins. His presence was quickly felt through membership in the Praise Team, Food Pantry Team Leader, Youth Teacher and Sunday school Teacher. God has blessed Elder Jones with a heart for the Youth of today and has given him a special gift for teaching them where they are.

Elder Jones was licensed as a Minister at the City of Refuge Church in October 2009, and was later ordained as an Elder in October 2012.

Pastor and Lady Jones relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia in September of 2014. They later founded City of Refuge II and Elder Jones was installed as Pastor of the same in July 2016.

He is married to the former Jarene C. Cooper, daughter of the late Elder James Cooper and now Pastor Clarine B. Cooper of Norfolk, Virginia.

Pastor Jones is an entrepreneur, and operates The J.C’s Home-Improvement Company and also a Non-profit Corporation that serves the community. His hobbies include fishing, football and drawing portraits for friends and family.
